Gamingslots spoke with our Product Owner, Viacheslav Pechernyi, about our slot Anubis vs Horus: Twin Titans. Viacheslav explains the game’s inspiration from ancient Egyptian mythology, the unique Twin Titans mechanic featuring two powerful gods, and the gameplay features designed to keep spins exciting. He also shares a glimpse into what new experiences Gaming Corps will be bringing players later this year.
Gamingslots: Welcome, Viacheslav! Tell us about Anubis vs Horus: Twin Titans. What makes it special?
Viacheslav Pechernyi: For our latest release, we decided to turn to Egyptology and set up a clash between Anubis, the jackal-headed guardian of the underworld and Horus, the falcon-eyed god of the sky. Both of these deities wield unique Wild powers to boost prizes, trigger special features, and unlock the game’s most lucrative mode, Twin Titans Free Spins. We’ve built 1,024 ways to win, and the volatility is fine-tuned for thrilling swings, meaning that this is one battle our players won’t forget.
But there’s more, because the gods’ powers are amplified still further during the standard free spins. At that point, Anubis enhances every Coin or Treasure Coin with added value, while Horus doubles their worth with every appearance.
GS: Why did you turn to ancient Egypt as the theme? Talk us through the design journey here.
VP: Egyptology is something that many people are familiar with, and it has the advantage of being both exotic and mysterious, yet recognisable. There have been plenty of movies and artwork that have drawn on this theme, and the images employed in ancient Egypt tend to spark a sense of adventure and potential for discovery. Also, the two gods of Anubis and Horus have a striking look, one that has lasted for millennia and is still identifiable today, so this was a divine gift to our designers and gave them rich material to work with.
GS: Tell us more about the game, and how these two Gods appear in it. What roles do they play?
VP: Anubis Wild and Horus Wild appear exclusively on the third reel in the base game, and each one has specific divine abilities, bringing different kinds of advantages for the players. Anubis can add prize values up to 1000x, summon additional coins, collect all coin values, or trigger his dedicated Free Spins round. Horus can double prize values, summon coins, collect, or trigger his own Free Spins feature.
When both gods land together, they unlock Twin Titans Free Spins, where each wild remains locked on the reels for the duration. This upgraded bonus round also awards additional spins and combines the powers of both deities, which means there’s potential for a maximum win.
But there’s more, because the gods’ powers are amplified still further during the standard free spins. At that point, Anubis enhances every Coin or Treasure Coin with added value, while Horus doubles their worth with every appearance. So each appearance by either god is a significant moment and a trigger for an exciting passage of play.
Our team is always planning and preparing the kinds of game content that we know will stand out, and so far, we’re being proved right with our choices, time and time again.
GS: Does Anubis vs Horus offer settings on the lines of speed mode, auto-spin limits, or bet presets that enable players to customise their experience?
VP: Yes, there are various kinds of settings that the player can adjust according to their preferences. For example, the game has turbo spin mode, and also there’s a control for up to 1,000 spins in autospin, with an option to stop if the win exceeds a chosen amount.
Although we work hard to offer a great product that players will enjoy, we also appreciate that different players have different tastes, so we can’t just design one fixed type of game for everyone, because our choice of settings might not suit everyone. Giving players the opportunity to engage in different game modes will give them a richer experience and help bring them back time and time again.
As always, we design games with a mobile-first approach. We believe that if the game works and looks amazing in a mobile portrait platform, then it will look good everywhere else as well.
GS: Looking at the broader picture, Gaming Corps also produces unique game types, such as the Smash4Cash series, and, apart from slots, creates Mine and Multiplier Games. Why do you create such different experiences for players?
VP: We always aim to provide for a range of player tastes and try to offer a wider selection of games than your average studio might cater for. At the same time, we always want to push the boundaries of what makes an iGaming product, and we look for the unique, the unexplored and the innovative. Our team is always planning and preparing the kinds of game content that we know will stand out, and so far, we’re being proved right with our choices, time and time again.
GS: Why do you think players will be impressed by ancient Egypt and give this game a spin?
VP: We wanted to create a slot that captures the grandeur and tension of an ancient rivalry, while giving players multiple routes to fun. The dual wild mechanic, the interplay between the gods, and the upgradeable free spins all work together to make every spin feel like a battle for glory.
We think players will be captivated by the exotic imagery, the non-stop fun in the gameplay and the engaging battle between these two ancient divine beings. The Gaming Corps team believes this is an eternal struggle that will keep players coming back again and again.
GS: Finally, as we head to the end of the year, what can players look forward to from Gaming Corps? Are there more interesting formats or inventive themes on the horizon that you’re able to share?
VP: Sure thing! Happy to give you a sneak peek at what’s coming up from us. So, we are already developing new instalments in our 3 Pigs series i.e. 3 Pigs of the Caribbean: Hold & Win. We’re also working on games with unique mechanics, themes and fresh visuals like Wild Woof Returns, Whole Lotta Honey, Paddy’s Payouts Race to Riches and many, many more.
As always, we design games with a mobile-first approach. We believe that if the game works and looks amazing in a mobile portrait platform, then it will look good everywhere else as well. That’s why every mock-up we create and animation we deliver takes place on a mobile portrait in the first place, before we move over to other devices. The Gaming Corps team are players themselves, so we’re driven to deliver great experiences that we know other players will love as well.
