GAMING CORPS in Austin, TX is looking for a passionate and pragmatic Game Economy Designer with a proven track record in the free to play (F2P) mobile market. As a Game economy designer, your responsibility is to understand how a game works and how the players behave in it, identifying and developing the purchase drivers in the game economy context, and providing constant data-driven recommendations on design, tuning and pricing to improve game performance.

Your day to day duties include but are not limited to:

-  Define virtual products and their statistics, understanding how they contribute to the game dynamics
-  Identify potential sale drivers for different product categories, define their key points of exposure
-  Balance needs for those virtual products, their relation, life cycle, and their streams of availability
-  Manage pricing, create specific price point roles, implement selling strategies for higher price points
-  Provide user feedback, stat/price point tuning based on play-testing, during and after development
-  Analyze evolution of metrics you defined to spot monetization bottlenecks and facilitators
-  Report suggestions for the game design or strategy to improve game performance

This position requires a mix of strong economy knowledge and passion for analytical F2P game design. 


  • Work closely with Leads to design the game’s economy
  • Develop, organize and maintain detailed economy design docs and materials
  • Create and manage game systems, economies and features
  • Design new delightful features to accomplish deeper engagement and monetization
  • Prepare and communicate regular progress reports, and other materials for reviews
  • Track, iterate, and tune game systems based on data collection and feedback
  • Establish test processes and criteria specifically focused on economy


  • Graduate degree in Economics, Business Management or BA, preferably specialized in Market Research
  • Fluent written and spoken English, concise writing skills
  • Mastery of Excel
  • Shipped at least 1 mobile title in an Economy based role
  • Strong sensitivity to gameplay and understanding how to build needs and emotions in a game
  • Good understanding of monetization and retention design
  • Statistics knowledge, able to formulate ratios and indexes specific to each game, identifying specific weaknesses and strengths in its economy design
  • Prolific min/maxer and passionate for the math behind the game
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional listening skills
  • Strong econometrics skills, able to model problems into quantitative systems, and draw qualitative conclusions out of quantitative data
  • Understanding of client/server architecture and data collecting pipeline and mining
  • Passion for games on all existing formats


  • Previous experience in econometrics / data mining
  • Mastering of UI prototyping tools
  • Experience in community managing, marketing or product management
  • Previous experience as game designer, social designer
  • Advanced understanding of SQL and/or Python
